Overview

Mallesons Stephen Jaques' privatisation team encompasses a group of senior commercial and corporate partners and lawyers who have extensive experience and skills in providing legal and commercial advice to clients on all aspects of privatisation from the sale or lease of government owned assets whether by IPO or private sale or lease by competitive tender or otherwise through to outsourcing of services and concession arrangements.

Our privatisation team has been involved in some of Australia's most significant privatisations including the Telstra public offerings and the privatisation of Sydney airport and the Victorian electricity and gas privatisations and South Australian electricity privatisation. In these transactions we have provided innovative and commercially focussed advice to both public sector owners and acquirers, financiers, equity investors and contractors on all facets of privatisation. In particular our team's strengths in mergers and acquisitions and financing are of significant value to our clients in privatisation transactions.
