2006 was another busy year for Mallesons Stephen Jaques’ project finance lawyers with the team acting on many of this market’s most significant transactions.
According to analysis by Dealogic, Mallesons was number one in Australasian project finance (with a 29.1% market share) and number five globally for PFI/PPP project financings (with a 4.7% market share).
In Australasia, Mallesons were legal advisers on six of the top ten deals in 2006:

The US $3.400 billion Sydney Airport Refinancing 3, also ranked 8th on the list of top ten global deals.
Dealogic reported an 8% increase in global refinancings, a figure clearly evidenced by the number of refinancings taking place in the Australasian market. Mallesons’ partner Tony Holland commented “We’ve seen the number of refinancings increase as borrowers continue to go back to the market while conditions are favourable.
