Australian software tool halves recruitment time

26 July 2007

A web-based recruitment tool, developed by a leading Australian Law firm, has cut recruitment lead times by more than fifty per cent. The software, TalentNet, developed by Mallesons Stephen Jaques, is designed to appeal to tech-savvy Gen Y jobseekers.

TalentNet can find, identify, contact, select and offer employment to an applicant at high speed. It enables candidates to have more control over the job application process and keeps them informed as their application progresses.

Features that reduce the recruitment life cycle include:

  • online self-selection of interview times
  • automated SMS reminders of interview times
  • automatic publishing of advertisements on Mallesons’ website and leading recruitment websites, ensuring job opportunities are posted faster, and
  • online submission of applications.

“With fierce competition among professional services firms for the best new talent, TalentNet is of great assistance in attracting the ‘best and brightest’ gen Y recruits,” Executive Director Business Integration & Technology, Gerard Neiditsch, said.

“By making the experience for the applicant a better one, TalentNet gives Mallesons a significant advantage in a tough market for talent,” Mr Neiditsch said. “TalentNet’s innovative collaboration functionality has halved the time and administrative overhead required to progress applications to the point where offers can be made.”

TalentNet has won the prestigious international InnovAction Award 2007 for innovative accomplishment by a global law firm. Now in its third year, the Award has become a benchmark for ingenuity and innovation in law practice management.

Mallesons has been invited to accept the InnovAction award at the College of Law Practice Management's Annual Meeting in Philadelphia in September 2007.
