Mallesons Stephen Jaques is advising premium alcoholic beverage producer, Lion Nathan, on the $325 million agreement entered into to purchase Tasmanian brewer J Boag & Son Pty Ltd from San Miguel Corporation.
This is one of many strategic acquisitions Mallesons has worked alongside Lion Nathan on. The firm was recently involved in advising Lion Nathan on the purchase of the Inner Circle Rum group of companies.
The Mallesons team includes Partner, Greg Golding, and Senior Associate Adrian Perkins, who have been involved in all discussions, due diligence and final negotiations.
Lead Partner Greg Golding comments ‘We have a strong legal relationship with Lion Nathan and have been working alongside them for 15 years. This is a significant purchase their business and fills a gap in their current premium beer portfolio’.
The agreement is conditional on regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in early January 2008.
