Mallesons Stephen Jaques today congratulated partner, Julie Ward, on her appointment as a Justice of the New South Wales Supreme Court in its Equity Division. The appointment will be effective 29 September 2008.
The appointment is the second for a Mallesons partner to a state Supreme Court this year. In May, then partner, Emilios Kyrou, was appointed a Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Chief Executive Partner, Robert Milliner, said the firm was delighted for Ms Ward. He noted that coming on the back of the Kyrou appointment, it reflected the depth of legal excellence within Mallesons.
Ms Ward commenced her legal career as a solicitor at Mallesons in 1983 and was promoted to partner in the commercial Dispute Resolutions team five years later. At that time she was the youngest ever female partner to be appointed at Mallesons.
