Mallesons extends M&A and banking capabilities in London office

Mallesons Stephen Jaques has appointed Robert Hanley as a partner in its London office, effective on 15 September 2008. Robert has extensive experience in providing mergers & acquisitions and securities law advice to leading corporations, investment banks and financial institutions.

Robert, currently the London Managing Partner of Minter Ellison, will work closely with Mallesons' global Mergers & Acquisitions team to extend the firm's M&A capability in the UK , Europe and Asia on foreign investment, private equity investments, IPOs and equity capital markets issues and restructurings.

Announcing the appointment, Mallesons' Chief Executive Partner, Robert Milliner said : "Our clients are continuing to pursue global investments and operations and by continuing to evolve our international capabilities we are able to better service their needs. Robert Hanley's appointment will contribute to Mallesons strategic objective of better supporting the transactional work undertaken by our M&A and Capital Markets teams in Europe as well as the Asia-Pacific region."

Mallesons also announced an additional partner move to its London office.

Senior Banking & Finance partner, Adrienne Showering will transfer from Mallesons' Hong Kong office to the London office on 1 July 2009. Adrienne has been a partner in the Hong Kong office since 2002 and before that was in the Sydney office. She has a broad practice in the structured finance area and is internationally recognised as a leading lawyer in securitisation, aircraft financing, capital markets and asset finance.

Remaining as London office partner in charge is Rowan Russell, who is recognised as a leader in debt capital markets as well as asset and structured finance and general syndicated and corporate lending. Rowan has been in the London office since 2004.
