Telecommunications

Leading corporates, media owners, telecommunication companies and IT providers, come to Mallesons for their most significant legal issues and strategic transactions.

Remember when a phone was a phone? Today’s world consists of multi-level convergent media, in which communication and information are available through numerous quick-changing technologies. Within these converging technologies, the growth of information and technological change has led to an increased focus on data protection and privacy compliance, continued growth of outsourcing, and a new business landscape for media and telecommunication providers.

Across these developments, clients rely on the technical expertise and market insight of our dedicated TMT team to help mitigate risk and maximise opportunities as the market continues to evolve.

Examples of recent work includes advising:

In addition, we prepared agreements to cover the right to record the sporting events and to distribute the content via Free to Air Television services, Pay Television services and “radio broadcasting” services as well as the right to exercise new media rights in the sporting content.
