Emergency child care

Things don't always go according to plan. At Mallesons we appreciate and understand there will be times when our employees need to be at work when they hadn't planned to be due to urgent client commitments or deadlines or when child care is unavailable at the last minute.

To provide the support and flexibility our employees need, Mallesons has an emergency child care policy which allows support to be provided through Dial an Angel, a widely recognised and expert provider of professional child care support. These services are paid for by the firm.

"I am mum to Benjamin who is three and a half years old. He is demanding, great fun and keeps me grounded. I work full-time and have a big team to manage. There is no doubt it is challenging to be a working mum, so I have already taken advantage of some of the firm's flexible work practices.

Recently my child care arrangements fell through at short notice. Our nanny got pneumonia and I had to travel interstate for work. My husband was also working and unable to take time off for Ben.

We rang friends and family and were unable to find anyone free for the two days we were stuck without care for Ben. Thankfully, the firm's Emergency Child care program came to the rescue. The Dial an Angel service provided someone to help within 2 hours of making the call and Ben made a new friend in the nanny who was provided through the firm's assistance. The nanny was great and I was able to meet my work commitments confident that he was happy and in good care."
