Hong Kong Recruitment Process
Choosing the right firm for you is a big decision. Equally, choosing the right trainee is a major decision for us. Through our recruitment process, we aim to find out more about you as a person, so that we can be sure you’re right for us and so that you can be sure that we’re right for you.
All applications for trainee positions with Mallesons Stephen Jaques must be made online. Once all applications are received, our Recruitment Committee will meet to shortlist applicants. Applicants that have proceeded to this shortlist stage will then be contacted either by telephone or email and notified of an interview time and place.
First round interviews with up to two members of our Recruitment Committee will be held at our offices. Following all first round interviews, candidates will be short listed for second round interviews with other members of our Recruitment Committee. At the conclusion of the two (or even three) rounds of interviews, a selection meeting is held with the Recruitment Committee to determine trainee offers.
The offer of a trainee contract is conditional upon the successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate of Laws (PCLL) course in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong recruitment process is flexible in its time frames as we do not have external deadlines as with the Australian centres, but we encourage students interested in the program to apply as early as possible.
