Our asset finance lawyers have been actively involved in the asset finance market for over 25 years. We advise on asset-based transactions, predominantly structured finance transactions, involving financial products including:
- domestic and cross-border leasing
- structured note issuance facilities
- structured property finance facilities and real estate investment trusts (REITS)
- securitisation
- hybrid debt/equity products
- mezzanine debt and subordinated debt instruments.
The transactions in which we have been involved include financing ships, leasing aircraft, motor vehicles and rolling stock and infrastructure assets, such as hospitals, toll roads, prisons, tunnels, bridges, rail infrastructure, telecommunication installations and real estate. Other assets financed include copyright, eg films and television series and IT assets. Since 1992, we have acted for most of the financiers in Australian aviation financing transactions. We have also acted for the lessors and financiers in aviation financings and lease transactions for lessees and borrowers in jurisdictions outside Australia including Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, People’s Republic of China, United Kingdom and Ireland.
We advise major Australian and international financial institutions, lessees, operators, arrangers and corporates. We work with clients to develop transactions tailored to their needs, especially for income tax, stamp duty and GST and for the securitisation of cash flows.
“…a magnet for instructions on the top transactions.”
