International Chamber of Commerce- arbitral proceedings- claim by French buyer against Australian seller
We act for a major Australian company in international arbitral proceedings brought by a French buyer. The arbitration is being held under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) with a London seat. The dispute arose out of the international sale of goods and the master agreement governing the parties’ respective rights and obligations.

US$150 million arbitration on a hydro-electric project (Philippines)
We are acting for an international turnkey contractor in an ICC arbitration. This involves approximately US$150 million of disputes arising out of a hydro power project in the Philippines. The turnkey contract was governed by Philippines law whilst the arbitration was subject to Singaporean law. The arbitration is being held in Melbourne and Australian procedural law applies to certain aspects of the arbitration. The matter has also involved proceedings before the Philippines court.

International Chamber of Commerce- arbitral proceedings- claim by Australian seller against Bulgarian buyer
We act for a major Australian company in international arbitral proceedings brought againt a Bulgarian buyer. The arbitration is being held under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) with a Geneva seat. The dispute arose out of an international sale of goods.

US$76 million CIETAC Arbitration
We acted for a major Brazilian commodities supplier in an arbitration relating to a US$76 million claim by a subsidiary of a major mainland China company. The arbitration was administered by CIETAC (China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission).

ICC arbitration - enforcement in Thailand
Our team acted for a major foreign contractor enforcing a large ICC arbitration award in Thailand’s civil court. This matter is significant because it is the first such enforcement ever undertaken in Thailand. We achieved the first ever successful enforcement of a large ICC Award in Thailand.

LCIA- arbitral proceedings- claim by French buyer against Australian seller
We act for two Australian companies in international arbitral proceedings brought against an Indian company. The arbitrations are being held under the auspices of the LCIA with a London seat. The dispute arose out of an international sale of goods and the master agreement governing the parties’ respective rights and obligations.

HK$200 million arbitration against the Highways Department, Hong Kong
Our team are acting for a Hong Kong contractor in this very complicated arbitration over construction of extensive tunnels and roadways in Hong Kong. The matter is significant because we expect to make a landmark law. This concerns whether certain government agencies can be said to be the “employer” under the particular form of contract in question.

AUD$70 million financial services dispute
We acted for an Australian investment bank in a dispute with a joint venturer, which was subject to the rules of the Arbitration Federation of South Africa. The dispute arose out of the dissolution of a joint venture for the marketing of equity derivatives. The matter was factually and legally complex, with witnesses in Australia, South Africa and Hong Kong.

ICC Rules - wind farm dispute
We act for a major wind turbine manufacturer in relation to a disputes over severe weather damage to a wind farm in Asia. The matter involves challenging technical and legal issues, and procedural matters in local courts as well as ICC arbitration.
