Telstra Corporation Limited - T1 and T2
Mallesons Stephen Jaques acted for Telstra Corporation in relation to both the T1 and T2 transactions. The T1 transaction was the largest float in the world in 1997 and the largest ever initial public offering of an Australian company with the one-third interest sold by the Australian government being valued at over A$15.9 billion. While the Australian government was the vendor, Telstra assumed full responsibility for the prospectus.
In the T2 transaction a second public offering of a further 16.6% was made by the Commonwealth of Australia.
