The Chairman of the Board of Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Mr Frank Zipfinger, today announced the re-appointment of Mr Robert Milliner as Chief Executive Partner of the firm.
As a result of a partner vote on 16 February 2009, Mr Milliner will continue as Chief Executive Partner until December 2011. He initially commenced in the role in mid 2004.
In announcing the re-appointment Mr Zipfinger said: “The Board is strongly of the view that Robert has done an excellent job as Chief Executive Partner and is the right person to continue to lead Mallesons.
“While the firm is performing strongly, we do not underestimate the challenges that lie ahead for law firms and for business generally. Experienced leadership and excellent management will be critical to Mallesons’ success over the next few years,” Mr Zipfinger said.
“Continuity of direction and leadership will be an important factor in ensuring that our firm’s strategic initiatives and programs are as successful as possible,” he said.
Mr Milliner said he was delighted to accept an extension of his term.
“It has been a privilege to serve in the role of Chief Executive Partner and I am very appreciative of the support shown by the partners in re-appointing me to the position,” he said. “The calibre of partners and staff at Mallesons, our strong management team and the underpinning culture of the firm make the role an extremely rewarding one.”
Mr Milliner added: “While current conditions obviously create a number of challenges, I am committed to helping achieve further success for our firm; not only consolidating our market leadership position in Australia but continuing to extend our presence in Asia.
“Delivering superior client service will remain at the core of our business strategies going forward. As a firm we set ever higher benchmarks for ourselves in terms of the value that we provide to our clients and I look forward to continuing to guide that process,” Mr Milliner said.
