 Professional Biography

 
  • Lisa Huett is a partner in the Melbourne office of King & Wood Mallesons where she specialises in competition law, consumer protection, product liability and privacy law.

    Lisa has advised extensively in relation to trade practices law matters, including preparing responses to ACCC investigations, advising on the general trade practices implications of clients' proposals and conduct, and assessing advertising and other marketing material for potentially misleading representations.

    Lisa also provides advice on privacy law related issues, including assisting clients to comply with the National Privacy Principles and Information Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 as well as assessing communications for compliance with the Spam Act 2003 and the Do Not Call Register Act 2006. Lisa is regularly involved in implementing privacy policies dealing with the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. In doing so, Lisa advises clients on marketing strategies, privacy content issues and third party contract issues.

    Lisa frequently presents seminars and workshops on trade practices and privacy issues including proposed law reforms and the implications for clients.

  • Advising FMCG companies on the trade practices implications of their distribution and channel arrangements and pricing terms
  • Advising companies in respect of the recent criminalisation of cartel conduct and the implications of the new laws on their agreements and dealings with competitors and distributors
  • Advised on the competition law aspects of Sensis' acquisitions of CitySearch, Trading Post and Universal Publishers
