Larry Kwok is Managing Partner, Mainland China and Hong Kong of Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

Larry specialises in corporate finance, securities, private and public mergers and acquisitions, direct investments, particularly, PRC transactions. His practice also involves private equity, corporate reorganisation and corporate rescue. Larry is well known for complex deals, particularly initial public offerings and mergers & acquisitions involving PRC corporations.

He regularly provides business, corporate and regulatory advice to US and European corporations, PRC state-owned enterprises, PRC private-owned enterprises and Hong Kong corporations.

In recent editions of Chambers Asia, the Asia Pacific Legal 500 and PLC Which Lawyer?, Larry was rated and recommended as a leading lawyer in Capital Markets / Corporate / M&A practice. He was recognised by The Legal Who's Who - Hong Kong as a leading corporate finance lawyer and by Asian Legal Business in 2001/2002 and 2004 as one of the 100 most influential lawyers in China (including Hong Kong).

He graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia with double bachelor degrees in accounting/economics and laws respectively as well as a master's degree in laws. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and the Competition Law Programme at the University of Hong Kong. Larry is qualified to practise as a solicitor in Hong Kong SAR, China, Australia, England and Wales and Singapore. He is also qualified as a Chartered Accountant in England and Wales and a CPA in Hong Kong and Australia. Larry speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Larry also has a remarkable record of leadership and experience in public and community services. He has served regularly on Government boards and committees. Previously, Larry was Vice-Chairman of the Consumer Council, Convenor of the Disciplinary Appeals Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, a member of the Expert Panel on Listing of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Review Body on Bid Challenges under the World Trade Organization.

Larry Kwok is praised by clients for his "dedication and knowledge of Hong Kong regulation and listing rules" (IFLR 1000, 2010).

He is currently a member of the PRC Political Consultative Committee (Guangxi) and a member of the Corporate Finance Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Princess Margaret Hospital and Kwai Chung Hospital. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Land and Development Advisory Committee.
