 Professional Biography

 
  • Stuart Dixon-Smith is a Partner in the Sydney office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques where he specialises in property development and investment and property finance law. He acts for developers or lenders on the acquisition, construction, financing and development of major properties and infrastructure projects. He also acts for a number of listed developers and investors. Stuart generally acts as co-ordinating Partner in major transactions and has developed the broad legal and non-legal skills needed to service this role. These legal skills include property acquisitions and sales, leasing, planning, subdivision, construction, banking and finance, stamp duty, property related taxation, public property trusts, listings, and debt issues. Stuart also has particular speciality in complex residential developments, hotels, retirement villages and hospitals.

    Chambers Global 2012 says Stuart is widely regarded by both clients and peers as a strong performer whose esteemed reputation, particularly where structured deals of those involving REITs are concerned, is thoroughly deserved. Stuart was also named "Lawyers of the year 2012" by Best Lawyers. APL 500, 2010/11 said that Stuart is one of Australia's outstanding property lawyers.
