 Professional Biography

 
  • Yuen-Yee Cho is a Partner in the Banking and Finance team in the Sydney office of King & Wood Mallesons. She specialises in acquisition financings, project and infrastructure finance and general corporate finance. Yuen-Yee is also a qualified English lawyer.

    Yuen-Yee's 2011 transactions include advising Bradken Ltd in establishing a global platform for its debt facilities, the Banks financing Affinity Equity Partners’ acquisition of Primo Smallgoods, Paine & Partners on its acquisition of a 50% stake in Costa Group, and Sydney Airport and Broadcast Australia on major bank debt refinancings.

    Yuen-Yee has been ranked a leading practitioner in Banking & Finance/Acquisition Finance in Chambers' Global Guide to the Legal Profession 2011, Best Lawyers in Australia 2008-11, PLC Which Lawyer, Asian Legal Business's Legal Who's Who, Guide to the World's Leading Banking Lawyers 2011 and the International Who's Who of Project Finance Lawyers 2011.

She was a speaker at the International Bar Association / Law Council of Australia private equity conference in April 2008 and at the IBA Private Equity Symposium in London in December 2011.

  • Broadcast Australia - $825m credit-wrapped note and bank facilities and various refinancings thereafter including a debut USPP in 2010 (2002-10)
  • Lead finance partner for the borrowers in the refinancing of United Energy, Multinet and Alinta Networks and other debt aspects of the $4bn Shearwater transaction (2003)
  • WestLink Motorway consortium - $2.3bn Western Sydney Orbital tollroad project (2003)
