Mallesons was a sponsor of the 1st National Diversity on Boards Conference 28 & 29 May 2008 and again for the 2nd Natoinal Diversity on Boards Conference 2 & 3 September 2009. The key aim of the conference was to progress discussion and action on the important issue of improving the diversity on Australian boards.

Mallesons has been the key sponsor of this program since its launch in 2004. The Sydney University Law Society (SULS) Women’s Mentoring Program aims to foster the career development of female law students and develop a co-operative network to support young women hoping to enter various legal professions. It involves pairing each female law student applicant with a mentor who works in an area of particular interest to the student. This is now the fifth consecutive year of the Program, and it continues to grow each year, with approximately 70 students participating in 2007.

Programs

The advancement of women is viewed as a business critical issue and as such developing our female talent is key to ensuring their retention. Mallesons has a wide offering of internal programs complimented by the opportunity to attend various conferences and external programs. Women on parental leave are invited to attend all relevant training and events with on-site childcare provided as required.

Partners Work and Family Program
Providing a supportive environment in which to share information and ideas and formulate practical strategies to address the challenges of combining parenting and partnership responsibilities.

Career Resilience and Success for Women
This two day intensive program positions women to maximise their career potential assisting them to identify their long term career goals and core strengths. It highlights potential career pitfalls and provides strategies and techniques for ensuring career resilience and success.

Macquarie Graduate School of Management - Women in Leadership program

MGSM's Women in Leadership, two day residential program, aims to assist women enhance their strategic thinking, leadership, commercial acumen and influencing skills. The program combines academically rigorous models and frameworks with practical techniques to apply in the work place.

During 2007 and 2008 we have sponsored 6 attendees.

The CEW Talent Development Program aims to help participating organisations create a corporate environment that is highly successful in retaining and developing women leaders.

The 12 month program is designed to stimulate lively discussion on barriers to success and how corporations can facilitate more effective use of their talent.

We currently have four Senior Associates from our Melbourne centre attending this program.
