Professional biography
David Olsson is a Partner based in Beijing with responsibility for the banking and finance practice in Mallesons' Beijing and Shanghai offices. David is a corporate finance specialist who advises foreign financial institutions in relation to their entry into the Chinese markets and the regulatory and legal environment, as well as the financing options available to foreign and domestic entities operating in China.
With over 20 years' experience derived from working in a number of international markets, David is a recognised leader in his field. He is a specialist in the areas of corporate and infrastructure finance and advises regularly on the bond and derivatives markets in China.
David brings to his practice significant commercial experience, having been one of the firm's national Managing Partners for several years and prior to that, national head of the Banking and Finance Group. He has also been the Partner in Charge of the firm's Melbourne and Hong Kong offices and has practiced in London, Hong Kong and the Middle East.
David is recommended in the 2009 edition of the Guide to the World's Leading Capital Markets Lawyers produced by Euromoney's Legal Media Group and was also recognised as one of China's leading capital markets lawyers in The International Who's Who of Capital Markets Lawyers 2009.
