Professional biography
David Wood is a tax partner in the Melbourne office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques. He advises on all aspects of direct and indirect taxation with particular emphasis on taxation aspects of financing transactions, capital management and international taxation.
David advises on the CGT aspects of mergers and acquisitions and restructuring of listed trusts, as well as on the GST aspects of financing.
David regularly advises major Australian and foreign retail and investment banks. He acted on the A$2 billion National Income Securities offering by National Australia Bank and on the Commonwealth Bank takeover of Colonial. He also acted on the A$800 million Colonial Income Securities offering by Colonial Limited.
