Professional biography
Ian Paterson is a Partner in the Melbourne office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques. He specialises in Banking and Finance, with an emphasis on structured financing, structured capital markets, acquisition financing, derivatives, financial sector regulatory issues and payment systems.
Ian has acted on numerous project and structured financings for National Australia Bank, including IT projects, transport projects, property financings, large equipment leasing and structured equity participations.
He has acted on debt capital markets issues in both domestic and international markets for private companies, government authorities and international organisations, including Eurofima and the European Bank for Reconstructions and Development.
Ian has been nominated in the areas of Capital Markets: Equity, B&F: Debt and Corporate Finance by Chambers Global Guide 2009 and recommended in the 2009 edition of the Guide to the World's Leading Banking Lawyers produced by Euromoney's Legal Media Group.
