Professional biography
Jim Boynton is a partner in our Sydney office where he specialises in investment funds, complex investment products, custody, life insurance and superannuation.
Jim has nearly 20 years' experience helping the wealth management industry. Jim advises on all legal and regulatory aspects. He has assisted clients to develop products ranging from wrap accounts and hedge funds to superannuation and pension products and to develop products specifically directed at superannuation funds and life companies. He also has assisted clients with investments in financial services businesses (eg investing in boutique fund managers and buying, selling and integrating major funds management businesses and life companies).
He has chaired a number of industry body committees and represented the Investment & Financial Services Association at a Productivity Commission review. He was one of the first lawyers in private practice to become a member of the Department of Treasury's Financial Services Reform Implementation Consultative Committee.
