Natalie Hickey is a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice in the Melbourne office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques. She specialises in intellectual property, with a focus on contentious issues.

Natalie has acted for clients such as Cadbury Schweppes, Telstra and Sensis in a broad range of litigation matters involving defamation, patents, trade marks, copyright, passing off, misleading and deceptive conduct and confidential information. She is also an arbitrator of auDA domain name disputes.

In the copyright context, Natalie has acted in a landmark "fair dealing" case about the use of sports footage on the internet and over mobile phones, advised on copyright issues concerning house plans, and is acting in seminal litigation concerning the protection of copyright in telephone directories.

Natalie has a particular interest in branding and marketing issues. As well as helping manage the Melbourne office’s extensive trade mark practice, she is experienced in matters concerning the registration of unusual trade marks.
