Professional biography
Scott Bouvier is a Partner in our Sydney office where he advises on commercial dealings and disputes with intellectual property.
Scott has three main streams to his practice:
(1) Trade marks and advertising advice to leading brand owners, FMCGs and industrials, including trade mark prosecution/oppositions and advice on advertising campaigns, proposed product launches, packaging, trade practices, sponsorship and trade promotions, as well as general commercial and disputes advice.
(2) IP commercialisation advice and transactions for a leading University and a National Research Institution, including patent licensing, start up/VC companies, shareholders agreements, joint ventures, research collaborations and CRCs.
(3) IP aspects of M & A transactions, particularly venture capital and private equity transactions (where Scott has worked with our leading private equity team since 2002).
Through his career Scott has acted on a range of leading cases (eg the Kettle Chip and Duff Beer cases), and litigated disputes involving passing off, copyright and trade mark infringement, franchising and distribution arrangements and IT system development.
Scott is a regular seminar speaker on all aspects of IP with a particular focus on IP management. He is currently Partner in Charge of our Sydney office.
