Professional biography

Stephen Minns is a Partner in the Melbourne office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques and the co-head of the national Mergers and Acquisitions practice. He specialises in public company acquisitions and equity issues as well as general corporate work. He brings to his corporate and commercial practice experience in merchant banking in both Australia and overseas.

He advised Foodland on the demerger of its New Zealand business and acquisition under schemes of arrangement by Woolworths and Metcash, and he also advised BHP Billiton on the demerger of BHP Steel.

Stephen has a global reputation as a leading corporate, M&A and corporate governance lawyer. He was nominated (band 2) by Chambers Global Guide 2009 in corporate/M&A, as well as a leading individual in corporate/M&A by IFLR 1000 2009 and APL 500 2008/2009.
