  • Moira has acted for clients to resolve a broad range of  disputes, including class actions, property, product liability, technology, insurance, and trade practices matters.  She commonly represents clients in regulatory investigations, as well as special commissions of inquiry.  In recent years she has specialised in the management of large and complex litigation.

  • Class Actions and Regulatory Investigations
  • Acting for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Centro class actions in the Federal Court
  • Acting for a national rental company in defence of class action proceedings alleging breaches of the Trade Practices Act.
  • Acting for Brookfield Multiplex in defence of a shareholder class action involving claims of misleading market disclosures and continuous disclosure obligations.
  • Representing clients in ASIC investigations into allegations of breaches of continuous disclosure, directors' duties and insider trading.

  • Advising an Australian distributor of imported building products in relation to product liability and recall issues in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advising overseas manufacturers in relation to product liability issues and product recalls in Australia.
  • Advising fast moving consumer goods clients on product on product liability issues including recalls and allegations of product tainting.
  • Acting for RailCorp before the Special Commissions of Inquiry into the Waterfall and Glenbrook Rail Accidents which included investigation of the rolling stock in the accidents.

  • Acting for defendants in proceedings alleging breach of contract, negligence and misrepresentations in connection with a software implementation project.
  • Citigroup Wealth Advisors - defence of disciplinary proceedings brought by ASX arising from the fraud of a former financial advisor.
  • Citigroup Global Markets Australia - acted for a key Citigroup witness in ASIC proceedings successfully defended by Citigroup alleging conflict of interest arising out of the takeover of Patrick Corporation by Toll Holdings.
