 Professional Biography

 
  • Roger is the practice team leader of our Dispute Resolution team, with responsibility for our disputes teams in all of our Australian and overseas offices. Based in our Perth office, Roger has many years’ experience advising on contractual, commercial and corporate disputes, corporate restructurers implemented by means of schemes of arrangement, competition and infrastructure access disputes and public law. His clients span the financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and resources sectors.

    Roger regularly contributes to the firm's quarterly publication "Class Action". He has been recognised as a leading litigation and dispute resolution practitioner in the current editions of the Chambers Global and Legal 500 legal directories.

  • Defending a judicial review challenge to the validity of amendments to the licence of a power generator
  • Advising a major iron and steel manufacturer on a range of contractual issues related to curtailment of its iron and steel production
  • Advising a foreign bank with a significant Australian presence in relation to its class action exposure
  • Advising a major landlord on disputed rent adjustments under one of Australia's largest retail leases
  • Acting for Telstra in successfully defending arguably Australia's largest anti-trust claim
  • Acting for a major foreign bank on the restructure of its Australian operations
  • Acting for a non-bank lender on several pieces of related litigation concerning the funding of its securitisation business, and advising on a range of regulatory and contractual issues relating to its products and distribution network
