Mallesons partner named among Australia’s top 50 leading women

Mallesons Stephen Jaques partner, Nicola Wakefield-Evans, has been named as one of Australia's top 50 leading women by Advance - Australia’s leading global network of Australians and alumni abroad.

The only lawyer recognised, Ms Wakefield-Evans was among 200 women who attended the Advance Women's Leadership Summit which highlighted the achievements of the 50 current and emerging leaders in Australia on the eve of the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day.

Ms Wakefield Evans said: "I am delighted to have been recognised among such an inspiring and talented group of leading Australian women. As a partner in a leading law firm in the Asian region, I am particularly proud to represent female lawyers and I hope I can inspire others into leadership roles."‬‪

In a separate event to mark International Women's Day, Mallesons hosted a series of gatherings across its offices with a number of high profile guest speakers invited to discuss their business experiences and professional journeys, including Carla Zampatti, Allegra Spender and Margaret Jackson.

In addition, the firm is a sponsor of this week's Women Lawyers of WA Honours Dinner which acknowledges the contribution of extraordinary women lawyers in Western Australia.

In 2011, the firm was named an employer of choice for women by the Federal Government’s Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA) and in 2010, was awarded Employer of Choice - Gold Status by ALB magazine for its workplace practices including flexible working arrangements, paid parental leave and its Engaging Women Program.
