As the flood crisis in Queensland worsens, we are focusing on the wellbeing of our staff, their families, and our clients.
Our emergency response plan has been activated which provides assistance to effected staff and which will help maintain business continuity.
All our staff were successfully evacuated from our Brisbane office yesterday (11/1/10) and the office will remain closed until further notice.
Our emergency information line has been activated which provides staff with regular updates and on which they can leave messages that will be closely monitored by our emergency response team. We have also initiated an SMS emergency response system to contact all staff to determine their safety status.
All staff and their families will have access to the firm's Employee Assistance Program at any time. Through our Mallesons in the Community program, we are arranging for the firm and our people to contribute to the remarkable fund raising effort that is currently underway.
We are also working with all our clients who may be impacted by the closure of our Brisbane office, with work being shifted to other centres and our international team of lawyers providing assistance where needed.
We will continue to work with authorities on the ground to keep our staff up to date on developments.”
Mallesons has made an immediate donation of $50 000 to the Queensland Premier's Flood Relief Appeal. In addition, the firm will match all donations made to the Appeal by staff through our Workplace Giving Program.
