King & Wood Mallesons named AB+F Law Firm of the Year

King & Wood Mallesons has been named Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious 2012 Australian Banking and Finance Magazine (AB+F) Awards last night, cementing the firm’s position as a market leader in financial legal services.

The AB+F Awards, Australia’s premier financial services awards, highlight the outstanding contribution and achievements of companies and individuals in the banking and finance industry.

King & Wood Mallesons was recognised for its standout performance in delivering innovative finance solutions for its clients on some of the market’s most complex and sophisticated transactions, including Goodman Fielder’s $259 million PAITREO offer, Origin’s A$500 million retail notes offer and the establishment of ANZ’s US$20 billion Global Covered Bond Programme.

Accepting the award on behalf of the firm, Managing Partner, Sydney, Beau Deleuil said: “In what has been a volatile market, we were lucky to work on some standout deals for our clients this year and we are grateful that AB+F has recognised our capabilities in the banking and finance sector.  Since combining with King & Wood in March, we now have even more to offer our clients with our unrivalled footprint in Asia.”

The award is the latest in a series of accolades for the firm, which took out six awards, including CSR Firm of the Year, at the ALB Australasian Law Awards last week.

Congratulations to all who were successful in their respective categories at the 2012 AB+F Awards.
