Mallesons Stephen Jaques, a leading law firm in the Asian region, starts 2012 with greater partner depth and a significantly enhanced leadership team.
The firm’s 12 new partners include seven internal promotions and five lateral hires:

• Sally Audeyev joined our M&A practice in Perth in January 2012. Sally practices in the area of environmental law and land access, and joined us from Blake Dawson
• Alex Baykitch joins us from Holman Fenwick Willan. Alex is a leading International Arbitration practitioner and will join our Sydney office in the second quarter of 2012.
Previously announced:
• Debt capital markets experts Sau Wing Mak and Kevin Tong joined our Banking & Finance practice in Hong Kong in September 2011 from Simmons and Simmons, significantly enhancing the firm’s capability around Renminbi products.
• Leading M&A partner Peter Stirling will join the Melbourne office in late January 2012 from Blake Dawson.

Leadership Team
From 1 January 2012 the firm’s leadership team is:
Stuart Fuller – Stuart succeeds Robert Milliner as Chief Executive Partner. The firm announced its combination with leading Chinese firm King & Wood at the end of 2011. This arrangement becomes effective on 1 March 2012 when both firms will be called King & Wood Mallesons. From 1 March, Stuart Fuller will be based in Hong Kong and he will become the Global Managing Partner of King & Wood Mallesons.
Tony O’Malley – Tony will become Managing Partner, Australia, with overall responsibility for the Australian practice.
Tim Blue – Tim will continue as Managing Partner, Practice & Firm, with specific responsibility for the firm’s practice teams and firm-wide operations.
Caroline Coops – Caroline will become Managing Partner, People & Talent, with specific responsibility for the firm’s people and talent management strategies.
Beau Deluil – Beau will transfer from Perth to Sydney to take up the role of Managing Partner, Clients & Markets with specific responsibility for the firm’s client relationships and business development initiatives.
