When presenting the award, INSTO highlighted Mallesons’ impressive contribution to the M&A and debt and equity capital markets in 2011.
Mallesons acted on a number of significant M&A deals throughout the year, including AMP’s A$14.6 billion acquisition of AXA and the Telstra and National Broadband Network Co landmark A$11 billion agreement.
In addition, Mallesons advised on a significant portion of the INSTO award winning deals, including Innovative Deal of the Year, Equity Deal of the Year and Hybrid Issuer of the Year.
We congratulate all our clients who were also successful in their respective categories.
Mallesons Managing Partner, Australia, Tony O’Malley, said the performance of the financial institutions recognised at the INSTO Awards was commendable in the light of the turbulent market conditions during 2011.
“As key players in the covered bond and hybrid markets we have seen financial institutions develop increasingly innovative structured finance solutions and diversified funding sources to overcome the challenges of difficult trading circumstances.”
