Mallesons scholarship winners announced

Mallesons Stephen Jaques, a leading law firm in the Asian region, is pleased to announce the recipients of its national scholarship program. The Mallesons Aspire Award is designed to help disadvantaged students, who would have otherwise faced great difficulty meeting study costs, achieve their tertiary education goals.

Year 11 students, Emily Clinton (NSW), Crystal Canning (VIC), Tegan Denniss (ACT), Lexus Hughes (QLD) and Julie Ogden (WA) have won the award, each receiving $9,000 apportioned over Year 12 and their first two years of tertiary studies, and an offer of ongoing support and guidance from a Mallesons mentor.

Mallesons’ managing partner, Tony O’Malley, said: “In the coming years, we hope that the Mallesons Aspire Award will become an important pillar in one of Mallesons in the Community’s key charitable objectives – helping children and young people”.

The Smith Family’s CEO, Dr Lisa O’Brien, has recognised the significance of this opportunity for the five recipients. “Thanks to the support of Mallesons, these students will receive extra financial and mentoring support so they can concentrate on getting the most out of their education.”

The program, launched in October 2011, marks the tenth anniversary of the Mallesons in the Community program, and the tenth anniversary of Mallesons’ partnership with The Smith Family. Read more here.
