Mallesons has been named ‘Most Innovative Law Firm in Asia-Pacific (Headquartered in Asia-Pacific)’ at the 2026 Financial Times (FT) Innovative Lawyers Awards Asia-Pacific, held in Hong Kong last night.

The recognition marks a significant milestone for the firm, coming just months after the launch of Mallesons as the top-tier independent law firm from Australia, and reinforcing its position as a trusted adviser on the most complex and consequential matters across the region and globally.

In addition to the top honour, Mallesons won the award for Innovation in Digital Legal Services, for developing custom AI-enabled playbooks and agentic workflows to convert dynamic knowledge into searchable, reusable and scalable assets, unlocking greater value for clients.

Commenting on the awards, Chief Executive Partner Renae Lattey said:

“We are incredibly proud to have been named the Most Innovative Law Firm in the Asia-Pacific by the Financial Times, in our first awards appearance as Mallesons.

“Our vision is to be the firm trusted most with our clients’ future in a world that never stands still. At a time of increasing complexity and rapid change - including significant transformation across the legal profession - that means delivering deeper insight, smarter solutions and greater impact for our clients.

“We are here to have an outsized impact, to lead the market, and to make a difference we can be proud of - and this recognition reflects exactly that. It underscores our commitment to combining deep legal excellence with innovation, creativity and commercial insight to help clients navigate complexity and unlock opportunity.”

In addition to the award wins, the firm was also shortlisted for awards in six other categories.

The FT Innovative Lawyers Awards Asia-Pacific recognise leading law firms and in-house teams driving innovation across the legal industry. The awards are based on rigorous research conducted by research and intelligence agency RSGI and are accompanied by a special report published by the FT.
