Sydney, Australia

Tamara specialises in regulatory investigations, litigation, and commercial advice in relation to the Competition and Consumer Act and the Australian Consumer Law. She regularly helps clients navigate major litigation, advises on commercial strategy, and supports clients through complex regulatory investigations by the ACCC.

Tamara has acted in cartel and consumer law matters against regulators and class action litigants, balancing clients' commercial objectives against the technical legal landscape and risk matrix. Clients have applauded Tamara's "ability to manage complex matters seamlessly".

Her experience includes advising on competition and consumer strategy, cartel risks, anticompetitive agreements, supply agreements, joint venture arrangements, misleading or deceptive conduct, greenwashing, unfair contract terms, consumer data right exemptions and enforcement, product liability including product recalls, and resale price maintenance across a range of industries. Tamara enjoys delivering training to help businesses avoid the risks, as well as responding to regulatory notices and supporting clients through to litigation and settlement. Tamara is one of a handful of lawyers that have acted in cartel class actions, most recently settling the foreign exchange cartel class action and prior to that the air cargo cartel class action.

Outside of the competition and consumer law space, Tamara has a particular interest in legal professional privilege and confidentiality claims and has helped clients to make claims in discovery and responding to notices and subpoenas.

Tamara is a member of the Law Council of Australia's Competition and Consumer Law Committee, the Gen-Mallesons diversity network, and is a LINK ally (Mallesons' gender and LGBTIQ+ diversity and inclusion networks). Tamara leads Mallesons' equitable briefing initiatives.
