We are delighted to have advised AirTrunk on the A$4.25 billion green loan supporting the continued development of SYD3 in Western Sydney.
The financing will help fund digital infrastructure for Australia's growing cloud and AI economy. The project is expected to drive new jobs and business opportunities. By directing contributions from margin savings to community initiatives, the facility also creates a pathway for the project to contribute to meaningful, long-term social value.
The Mallesons team was led by Yuen-Yee Cho (Partner), alongside Dylan Gardiner, Claudia Flanery, Michaela Spiteri, Zhong Guan, Chloe Lee and Anton Nankivell (Solicitors), with support from Nishant Khanna (Senior Associate), Amy Maguire (Partner), Yasmin Frost (Solicitor) and Dan Flanagan (Partner).
Commenting on the deal, Yuen-Yee Cho said:
"We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the AirTrunk and Blackstone teams on their first standalone greenfields debt financing in Australia. It is pleasing to know the project supports digital infrastructure for Western Sydney while the green loan feature will help the local community through funding of community initiatives."
