Q: What area at KWM do you work in and what is your specialisation?

A: I'm a partner in the Projects and Real Estate team, where I specialise in energy, utilities and climate change

Q: How long have you been with the firm?

A: I've been at KWM for 23 years. I started at KWM in the heady 1990s and am old enough to have worn a double-breasted suit.

Q: Why are you passionate about our Community Impact programme?

A: For me, it's an integral part of our identity. As individuals, as lawyers, as a firm.

Q: What projects or programs have you been involved in recently?

A: I am the relationship partner for Australian Conservation Foundation, the leading peak environmental group.

Q: Any stories you can share?

A: Recently we helped ACF navigate the political donations and foreign interference legislation when ACF was on the front pages of the newspapers. It was great to be involved behind the scenes in a topical issue.

Q: Why did you/do you get involved? What were/are your motivations?

A: The ACF relationship has given me insights into a diverse range of perspectives; it is a fantastic antidote to group-think. Oh, and they have a great rooftop deck and invite us to their drinks every summer!

Q: What skills or experiences have you gained through this work?

A: I have met a diverse group of people that I couldn't have met any other way. Plus, I now have a niche legal practice in political donations and foreign interference legislation.

Q: What tips do you have for others thinking about getting involved in the Community Impact program?

A: Tell your supervising partner what you're planning to do and, more importantly, why it's important to you.
