Melbourne is moving towards the end of a challenging period, and as thoughts turn to rebuilding the city and the state's economy, KWM's Melbourne Partners have been thinking about some recovery ideas for a more prosperous Victoria in the future.

In the short term, because we value the jobs and vibrancy they bring, it is vital that businesses are given certainty over re-opening.  In most cases businesses will bear responsibility for ensuring their customers' and employees' COVID-safety and if they meet that challenge, they must be assured of continued operations.

In a more macro-sense, much will be different.  But with some support and fresh thinking, Victoria's strengths – in education, technology and biotechnology for example – can attract enterprises and people dedicated to finding solutions to our most pressing challenges.
