King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is proud to have advised IFM on its acquisition from InfraRed Capital Partners of the award-winning Curtin University student accommodation precinct PPP project.
The multi-use precinct features student and private accommodation, a hotel, commercial space and retail facilities at Curtin University’s Bentley campus in Western Australia. The precinct has been operating since December 2021.
As part of the transaction, IFM has acquired 100% of InfraRed Capital Partners’ interest in the 35-year concessional PPP project, which expires in December 2054.
The asset will be managed by Infranexus, a wholly owned subsidiary of private capital heavy-weight IFM.
The KWM deal team was led by Partner Jeff Clark, with Partners Genovieve Lajeunesse and Mandy Tsang, Special Counsel Gareth Howe, Senior Associate Rouzbeh Ansari and Solicitor Ciara Briody, and supported by Senior Associate Shubho Mukherjee and Solicitor Michael Gruber.
Commenting on the deal, Jeff Clark said:
“This deal will add to growing PPP portfolio managed by Infranexus. It also builds on the continued investment of private capital we are seeing in the infrastructure and PPP asset space.
We are privileged to have worked with our long-standing clients IFM and Infranexus on this transaction.”
