King & Wood Mallesons (“KWM”) is delighted to have advised AEMO Services Limited (“ASL”) on Tender Round 4 for Long-Term Energy Service Agreements (“LTESAs”) under the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.

This tender focused on renewable generation infrastructure critical for NSW’s energy security, as well as delivery of the state’s minimum investment objectives of 12GW of renewable energy generation by 2030 and Australia’s transition to renewable energy.

ASL, together with the NSW Government, announced the award of contracts under Tender Round 4 for 312MW of renewable energy generation.

The successful projects are:

Tender Round 4 built on the innovative contractual arrangements offered in Tender Rounds 3, 2 and 1, which entitled successful bidders to access minimum cashflows over the term of their project.  KWM also advised ASL on Tender Rounds 3, 2 and 1, leveraging experience with renewable energy tender processes for generation, firming and long-duration storage infrastructure.

The KWM team was led by Partners Vishal Ahuja and Jessica Kruger, who were supported by Senior Associates Aaron Brooks and Capucine Hague, Solicitors Annelise Nguyen, Ishita Mattoo and Kyra Lee, and Law Graduate Thalia Velez Rodriguez.

KWM continues to be at the forefront of market leading transactions that support the country’s energy transition. The firm also recently acted on Victoria’s 200MW/800MWh Battery Energy Storage System as part of the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub and the 120 MW Munna Creek Solar Farm in Queensland.
