Asia’s top tier international law firm, King & Wood Mallesons (KWM), has announced the appointment of Australian Competition Partner Jennifer Barron.
Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to KWM’s Band 1 national Competition Team. Most recently she served as General Counsel, Merger Reform at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
Her deep experience in ACCC merger clearance, including her understanding of the current reforms, will be a strong asset to the firm and its clients at this critical time of change in the market.
Jennifer’s recent experience is complemented by two decades in private practice where she successfully navigated some of the most challenging merger clearances and competition matters. Her practice encompasses a broad spectrum of traditional competition law areas, with notable expertise in the energy sector.
Commenting on Jennifer’s appointment, Chief Executive Partner, Australia, Renae Lattey said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer to KWM. Her strong blend of experience at the regulator, including with the merger reform, and private practice combined with our existing national Competition bench strength will be invaluable as we support our clients in navigating the complexities of this major overhaul of Australia’s merger regime.”
Jennifer will join KWM’s Sydney office in June 2025.
