King & Wood Mallesons (“KWM”) is delighted to have advised AusEnergy Services Limited (“ASL”) on Tender Round 6 for Long Duration Storage (“LDS”) Long-Term Energy Service Agreements (“LTESAs”) under the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.

The tender focused on the delivery of long-duration storage infrastructure critical to NSW’s energy security, as well as high-quality electricity infrastructure outcomes that are in the long-term financial interests of NSW electricity customers.

Together with the NSW Government, ASL announced the award of contracts under Tender Round 6 for a total of 1.17 GW of capacity and 11.98 GWh of electricity storage capacity, making this the largest long-duration storage LTESA tender outcome by capacity to date.

Tender Round 6 builds on the contractual framework established in earlier Roadmap tenders, providing revenue certainty designed to support investment in long-duration storage while delivering value for NSW electricity customers.

The KWM team was led by Partners Vishal Ahuja and Jessica Kruger, supported by Specialist Energy Counsel David Ellis, Special Counsel Tracey Jordan, Senior Associate Matthew Caldow, Jacqueline Field and Solicitors Annelise Nguyen, Peter Kim, Claire Ng, Alistair Booth, Xani Meyers, Georgia Peake, Bec Sadique, Cindy Chen and Sally O’Loughlin.

Commenting on the tender, Jessica Kruger said: “Tender Round 6 represents an important step in the evolution of the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, supporting the deployment of long-duration storage at scale. We were pleased to support ASL on another significant milestone for the Roadmap.”
