Curious about a career in professional services? Mallesons Explore might be the perfect first step for you.

Mallesons Explore is a 30-day paid internship for tertiary students curious about a career in law and professional services. It offers flexible work experience and skills development relevant to your education and career goals. You do not need prior workforce experience to apply. Mallesons Explore is only open to participants in The Smith Family’s Learning for Life Tertiary Scholarship and Tertiary Together programs.

At Mallesons we have people working together to help achieve our business goals. They work in a range of roles, including in marketing and communications, human resources, legal and business research, technology, finance, hospitality, and operations.

Program highlights:

  • 30 days of paid work placement between May 2026 to October 2026.
  • Placement with a business support team relevant to your studies and interests.
  • Continued support and on-the-job learning.
  • Networking with Mallesons and our clients.
  • Work with a dedicated mentor.
  • Stay connected by participating in our alumni community. 
  • Engaging skills development workshops.
  • Career support and guidance.

Mallesons Explore interns work with a Mallesons supervisor (to help with work tasks), a mentor (to help you develop as a professional) and a buddy (to make sure you are well and supported).

Who We’re Looking For

To participate in Mallesons Explore, you need to be:

  • Part of The Smith Family’s Learning for Life Tertiary Scholarship program during your internship period.
  • Undertaking tertiary study aligned to one of our business support teams.
  • Able to travel to one of our offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, or Perth for your internship.
  • Enthusiastic and have a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • New to internships and seeking workforce experience.
