Alice Waterston specalises in competition and consumer law.
Alice advises clients on a full range of competition law issues, including cartel and anti-competitive conduct, key consumer law prohibitions (misleading or deceptive conduct, unfair contract terms, unconscionable conduct and the consumer guarantees) and product safety and liability issues. This includes deep experience advising clients on new and emerging competition and consumer law issues (including pricing/savings claims and greenwashing) and upcoming law reforms in relation to unfair trading practices and the proposed digital competition regime.
Alice has advised a range of clients in relation to ACCC competition and consumer law enforcement investigations, including advising clients in relation to the ACCC's immunity policy for cartel conduct and responding to mandatory notices.
Alice also has experience navigating public inquiry processes and royal commissions, having advised clients in relation to the Financial Services Royal Commission, the Aged Care Royal Commission and the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority's inquiry into Crown Resorts Limited.
Alice has diverse experience across in the FMGC, financial services, digital, pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries.
