Charles is an experienced banking and finance transactional lawyer with deep experience across a wide variety of sectors and transactions covering project finance, acquisition / leveraged finance, corporate finance and debt capital markets. Charles’ broad experience allows him to lead clients through complex transactions and bespoke multi-tier financing structures. 

Charles also has a strong interest in carbon credit project development and financing, and has previously worked in Mallesons' Hong Kong office.

His recent work highlights include:

  • Project Finance: acting for sponsors and financiers on economic and social PPPs/concessions including Royal North Shore Hospital, Victorian Schools, South Australian Schools, Ararat Prison, Victorian Public Housing Renewal Projects 1 and 2 and various projects as part of the Housing Australia Future Fund program.
  • Acquisition / leveraged finance: acting for multi-tiered financier groups to private equity structures including Navitas Group (owned by BGH Capital), iNova Pharmaceuticals (owner by TPG) and Patties Foods (owned by PAG).
  • Corporate finance and debt capital markets: acting for treasury teams of large borrowers including Telstra, Dyno Nobel, Manulife and Tasman Capital, as well as syndicates of financiers, on both domestic and offshore multi-tier financing platforms.
  • Carbon credit projects: advising Wollemi Capital across a range of project, financing and operational matters in connection with the development of carbon credit projects and sale of carbon credit units.
