Jesse is an experienced legal advisor in dispute resolution. His focuses are major projects, commercial disputes, dispute avoidance and regulatory matters. He has acted on several high-profile matters, representing public and private Australian and international clients on issues arising from construction projects and other commercial disputes. In his practice, Jesse has also advised and acted for private and public sector clients in Royal Commissions and public inquiries.

Significant disputes Jesse has been involved in include:

  • Wastewater treatment plant disputes: Advising on a range of claims related to a water plant in Queensland (claims of +$250m) arising from arbitral (ACICA) and litigation proceedings (Supreme Court of Queensland).
  • Chadstone Redevelopment: Advising on issues related to the redevelopment of the Chadstone Shopping Centre.
  • Marvel Stadium Redevelopment: Advising on a range of claims against the State and the AFL in respect of the redevelopment of Marvel Stadium.
  • West Gate Tunnel - PFAS Disputes: Advising the JV in disputes with Project Co and the State of Victoria concerning a AU$6.7bn contract relating to the West Gate Tunnel Project.
  • Royal Hobart Hospital Redevelopment Project: Acting for the Managing Contractor in a dispute involving a rapid expert alternative dispute process.
  • Devonport Showground: Acting for a developer in respect of a dispute with TasRacing on the tenancy rights in respect of Devonport Showground.
  • International arbitration: Advising on an UNCITRAL arbitration regarding a defective equipment supplied to an Australian project.
  • Royal Commissions, Boards of Inquiry and Forums: Solicitor Instructing and other advisory roles in respect of several Royal Commissions, Boards of Inquiry and Forums.
  • Victorian Department of Health: Advising on corporate legal strategy, including during a six-month secondment.
