Lilian specialises in corporate, construction, trade, acquisition and asset finance. She has significant experience advising global and Australian banks, offshore funds and large corporates on Australian and cross-border transactions in various industries including natural resources, agriculture, aviation, retail, healthcare and aged care. Her pragmatism and commercial mindset is sought out by clients on their significant transactions.

Lilian is proficient in several languages – English, Chinese (various dialects), Japanese and Malay, and her working languages are English and Chinese.

Some of her recent matter highlights include:

  • Acted as Australian counsel for an American bank on the provision of senior secured facilities of over US$500 million to an American multinational corporation that provides wide-ranging environmental services across US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
  • Acted as lenders’ counsel and restructured from a bilateral facility to club debt facilities of A$180 million with A$200 million uncommitted accordion to an ASX listed company to assist with its acquisition and development of residential communities nationally for independent seniors.
  • Acted as borrower’s counsel for an Australian leading supplier of cementitious products and services in the syndication of a A$500 million facility to assist the company with a business acquisition.
  • Acted as lender’s counsel for a multi-strategy hedge fund on various financing via loan notes issuance/subscription to fund property development projects around Australia.
  • Advised lenders and security providers in relation to contracts for various renewal projects and on biodiversity credit and carbon credit legislations in Australia.
