Marcus Wettenhall is a Special Counsel in the Melbourne Banking & Finance team of Mallesons with over 10 years’ of experience in Melbourne, Perth and London.
Marcus was named as a Leading Associate for Banking & Finance by The Legal 500 in 2025.
Marcus’s practice is broadly based. He has extensive experience in acting for regulated and unregulated utilities companies on their project and corporate financing matters including debt capital markets. Since moving to Melbourne in 2018 Marcus has grown his property finance (residential and commercial) work as well as acting for financiers on a range of corporate financings. Marcus also works closely with the firm’s restructuring and insolvency teams.
Marcus brings a calm and balanced approach to his work including managing transactions and other team members. Marcus enjoys all aspects of transactional matters, working with counterparties and other stakeholders to progress and complete simple and complex deals. He also advises clients through their own risk-assessment and compliance matters, where required.
