Yin Ma is a Senior Associate in the Banking & Finance team based in the Melbourne office of Mallesons, where she works on a broad range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, with a particular focus on corporate finance, property finance, trade and receivables finance and financing mandates with a dual onshore/offshore structure.

She has experience advising major banks and corporations on a range of transactions, including acquisition financings, leveraged financings, trade and asset financings, bridge loans, working capital facilities and various other types of financings. She is also a member of the China business team with significant international expertise and familiarity with Chinese business and cultural practices. Yin’s working languages are English and Chinese.

Yin is also a member of the firm’s cultural diversity committee, and was formerly co-convenor of the Melbourne centre’s cultural diversity interest group.

Yin’s recent matter highlights include:

  • China Merchants Bank (CMB) Sydney: onshore/offshore facility to e-Shang Star Cayman for the refinancing of 5 Chinese logistics properties
  • BOC Sydney and Shanghai: onshore/offshore facility to a Canadian alternative investment management company for the acquisition of a Shanghai office and retail complex (and the subsequent refinancing of the facility)
  • APLNG: acting for the financiers on a series of bi-lateral bonding facilities
  • Minera Las Bambas: acting for the financiers on a series of syndicated and bilateral working capital facilities to one of the world’s largest global copper producers to support its Peruvian copper mining operations
  • GFM Group: Assisting an Australian property management company on their build-to-sell and build-to-rent property developments
  • Emirati airport services provider: acting for an Emirati airport services provider on the refinancing and re-documentation of their bilateral transactional banking facilities with major Australian banks and assisting in their negotiation of a syndicated 5 year term loan facility with an American investment bank and financial services company
  • Australian retail investment fund (receivers and administrators appointed): assisting with the documentation and re-documentation of certain related party loan and security arrangements for an Australian retail investment fund and advising the fund in connection with ASIC investigations in respect of the fund’s activities
  • Tikehau Capital Limited (“Tikehau”) and UOB Kay Hian (“UOB”): acting as Australian local counsel to the joint fund established by Tikehau and UOB in respect of their US$60 million financing to Cladtek Holdings Pte Ltd.
