For more than 30 years’ Anthony has advised many of Australia’s leading employers on their key strategic industrial relations and employment issues.
He has assisted private and public sector organisations, major project proponents, operators and construction contractors across the project lifecycle. From front end planning to enterprise bargaining, workplace change, dispute resolution and large-scale redundancy events, Anthony has deep industrial relations experience. From time to time such matters involve complex administrative law and constitutional law issues.
He has written extensively on legislative changes since 1988. He travelled to Canberra to represent the mining industry in consultations with government on the most recent Federal legislative changes.
On the employment front, he has advised and acted in many disputes concerning post-employment restrictions and other employment contract issues. He has run many unfair dismissal cases.
Anthony has lived, and worked with clients, for long periods in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, enabling a keen appreciation of different approaches required by local conditions.
He has deep experience across the mining and resources sector, principally in coal mining in NSW and Qld and Iron Ore mining in WA. More recently, he has developed specialist expertise in the oil and gas sector advising all the major producers and many of their most important contractors.
He has significant experience as an advocate in the Fair Work Commission and its predecessors and has acted in all the courts and tribunals where employment and industrial relations disputes are resolved.
Anthony is consistently ranked as a Band 1 leading individual in employment law in Chambers and Partners, and for many years has been recognised as a leading individual in the Best lawyers and Doyles guides.
